SiTel has been housing students in Telemark for over thirty years; to put it simply, we know what students need. If you need a place to live, SiTel heartily welcomes you as a tenant. SiTel has almost 900 student and family housing options available within walking distance of the colleges in Bø, Notodden, Rauland, and Porsgrunn. Rents include electricity, water, use of washing machines and dryers, high-speed internet, and caretaker services.

The county of Notodden has 12300 inhabitants and achieved the city title in 1913.
Notodden is famous for its history of industry, which grew rapidly as a consequence of development of water power and industrial labor. Tinnfoss Jernverk was established in 1894. A few years later – in 1905 - Norsk Hydro settled at Notodden and gradually evolved to become a worldwide industrial enterprise.
Heddal stave church from the 10 – 11th-century, is the biggest and best preserved stave church in Northern Europe. It is located in Notodden. You can also visit Telemark County Gallery in Notodden which offer art exhibitions of very high quality. Notodden has its own airport with daily departures to Bergen. There are hourly departures to Oslo by bus, as well as railway connection to Oslo and the Southern part of Norway.
Notodden is best known for the study program for General Teacher Education which goes way back to 1880, and initially became a division at Telemark University College in 1994. The different subjects you can choose are general teacher education, pre-school teacher, specialist teacher in science, and in arts and crafts. There are 1300 students at Notodden.
Capus Notodden is stylish decorated and beautifully located with a view over mountains and lakes. The student environment is active and versatile. The student pub STUA houses 450 people. STUA is open daily with student cafe, and there are pub nights Wednesdays and Saturdays with disco and concerts. Every Friday is also pub night.
You also have access to accommodation at Notodden. In Sætre student house, close to TUC SiTel has 60 rooms. Høgås student house is situated a 10 – 15 minutes walk from school.
Here we have 88 single rooms and 12 family flats. Høgås student house has a great location with a beautiful view. SiTel also manage a kindergarten in Notodden. At school you can find a cafe and bookstore. Each summer, in August, Notodden arranges a blues festival which is the largest in Northern Europe – and the best in the world. This is a big international arrangement which gives the fall semester a great start.
SiTel kindergardens Sætråsen day-care centre is located near campus in beautiful surroundings, close to the forests. These surroundings play a huge and natural part in the children's daily life at Sætreåsen., whether they are playing, exploring or learning. We focus on appreciating the child and to meet the child on its own terms, we focus on its interests and characteristics, but also includes the child as a part of a larger group.[»]
